Oh my gosh. I found myself!!!!!

The sad thing is, although I loved a few of of my teachers and made a few friends, going to Santiam was one of the worst experiences of my life. Because my family didn’t come from money or have some history with the school, I was invisible. I felt like I wasn’t worthy to be there. We couldn’t afford the “right” clothes or activities. I was essentially taught that while yes God loves you, you really aren’t good enough for us. You could not PAY me enough to send my children to this school.

Class of 99’. I started in the building that is now the Corvallis Library and moved to the campus when Heritage opened. This video brought me to tears as I recognized most in this video.

I was hoping to find information on what it's like to be a curriculum director. Instead I got to watch an educator pat herself on the back. Education should not be a competition. We're not in the 19th century anymore where education equals class. It's not a luxury, and it's not a privilege. It's a right. The school system and education culture is yet another way capitalism has ruined us.
